The Ernest Hemingway Photograph Collection contains over 10,000 photographs organized into groups according to centers of activity at various periods of Hemingway's life. This means that certain years are included in more than one group. It also means that photographs of Hemingway in New York are to be found in the section titled "Cuba Years, 1939-1960," because Hemingway traveled to New York when he was living at the Finca Vigia in Cuba.
